About the City of Adjuntas
Adjuntas is a little town located in the outskirts of the Cordillera Central,
the central mountainous area of Puerto Rico, and is most famous for its cool, humid temperatures, friendly people, and lush
green forests. On this little town you will experience the tranquility of inside
mountainous Puerto Rico without driving too far from the city, and just to drive
to the town is an exciting experience. Make sure you bring your camera as there
are many interesting panoramic views on your way.
How to Get There
Located to the north of Ponce, Adjuntas is easily reached via the newly constructed road #10 that connects Ponce to Adjuntas.
If you are in San Juan, simply take road PR-52 towards Ponce. When you reach the
PONCE letters, take exit 98A to take road #10 north. The trip from Ponce to
Adjuntas is about 30 minutes.
Touring the Area
Expect cold, humid temperatures most of the year. The town is small, so you
can make it a side trip on your way to
Arecibo or other towns of the Area. Nearby towns easily reachable are
Jayuya,
Utuado and
Lares.
