Five awesome movies filmed in Puerto Rico

Pirates of the Caribbean

Johnny Depp?s Captain Jack Sparrow is no stranger to Puerto Rico. The whole franchise has been on and off from Puerto Rico?s shores, with its fourth installment being filmed in Palomino and Palominito Islands along Spanish-born beau Penelope Cruz in 2010. This almost secluded island paradise has been used to film scenes in such amazing movies as "Amistad" and many others. The Island, which is located off the town of Fajardo, can be accessed by boat and is well known for guests of the El Conquistador Hotel Resort, where it carries a variety of water attractions and adventures.

Of course, no pirate movie filmed on the Island can be done without a shot at El Morro or San Crist?bal Fortresses. The most eclectic and vibrant locations on the Island, this centuries-old defense system is a remnant of old Spanish rule on the island. El Morro was declared a World Heritage site in 1983.
