Seven things to do when visiting Ponce

Explore the Tibes Ceremonial Park

There are very few remaining places in Puerto Rico where you will be able to experience the way Ta?no natives used to live and thrive. One of these is the Tibes Ceremonial Park. Located in the northwestern part of the city, this Park will take you on a trip back in time to pre-colonial Puerto Rico. You will enter the park through an exhibit that displays how the Park was discovered, along with some fine examples of pottery and human remains found in the area. Next, you will travel through a lush forest area filled with many types of native trees and fruits, and from there you will reach the main park. The Ceremonial Park consists of several areas encircled in limestone rocks, and it is believed that these areas were used for different things including religious, social and military activities.

The Park is easily reachable through road PR #10. There is a minimum fee, and seniors enter free. Check our detail listing for more information.
