Located in the north coast of Puerto Rico at 11 miles north to the Aguadilla municipality, the Rafael Hernandez International Airport stands out as one of the most important airports in the caribbean. Administered by the Ports Authority of Puerto Rico, the airport is an important transload center and aerial bridge and contains the longest runway in the caribbean with 11,702 feet long. Built originally by the U.S. Navy as a transportation hub between the continental United States and the caribbean during the second world war, this airport was part of the old Ramy Field base in Aguadilla.

How to Get There

From Ponce, Take road #2 towards Mayaguez > Aguadilla. After reaching the town of Aguadilla, you will pass the Las Cascadas water park. Make a right at the RAMEY BASE sign. Follow the road and signs to the airport. From San Juan, take road #22 towards Arecibo > Aguadilla. Make a right at RAMEY BASE and follow the signs.
