Hello,
my name is Ronald B. Flores and I am the owner /
webmaster of PuertoRicoExplore.com. I am a web
programmer and developer and live in Ponce, Puerto
Rico. A few years ago, I was planning a vacations
trip on the island to take my family out. Being a
computer professional, I hit the web looking for
places on the island to go and visit. I found a lot
of sites that featured places and attractions to go
and see, but I found a problem. The information I
found all around was, although abundant, not too
informative. I also saw that most of the sites
listed were paid advertisements from big name
locations that can afford a decent web promotion
campaign. This bugged me a lot because there are so
many places in Puerto Rico that didn't appear
anywhere on the web. Places that are fun to
explore but were nowhere to be found on any of the
commercial guides we searched. We looked and looked
to no avail. So after returning from those vacations
in 2004 I decided to do something about it.
PuertoRicoExplore.com
was born from the desire of creating a guide where
any based business related to tourism in Puerto Rico
can be listed, FREE OF CHARGE. We wanted to give the
opportunity to local businesses to have some kind of
web presence, without the hassle and expenses of
creating a website, have it marketed, and so on. As
a web professional, I understand how difficult and
expensive this can be.
However, in here, businesses get listed,
FREE OF CHARGE, FOREVER. There are no catches
or hidden costs. The only thing we ask is that you
can just link back to our site. And even so, it is
not a requirement.
How
do we pay for hosting costs you ask? Well basically
from my wallet! Again, there is no lucrative purpose
behind this site. The only gain we get is from
Google Ads, and being a Puerto Rico site it is very
difficult to profit just from that. However, if you
find our site useful, please support us by spreading
the word around. You can either link back to us, or
support us by placing an ad on our site. We offer
